Kirby was flabbergasted. No matter how far around the surface he walked, he couldn't find a place to penetrate the shield. Somehow, even though he hadn't encountered a monster, he was stuck in this place. That was unacceptable to the young star warrior. Tiff and Meta Knight were counting on him, and he didn't intend to let them down.
As he walked, he swung Galaxia in wide arcs. The sword impacted the shield but didn't slice through. Each time he swung the sword, he would follow through on the strike, allowing the sword to touch the

Kirby closed his eyes for a moment, resting before he moved on. He wanted to find his friends, but he knew that he needed to be rested to continue looking. Someone was trying very hard to keep him from them. Kirby didn't intend to let whoever that person was succeed.
He felt himself drifting off. Knowing that he'd been awakened in the past by some internal alarm that knew when danger approached, Kirby slumbered, Galaxia in hand, confident that he would be able to rise and attack his next foe at a moment's notice.

It had been another one of those days. Interminably long and filled with far too much to do. I'd been running circles around myself and the precinct since six that morning, after having only gotten off shift at midnight. Already the clock had chimed seven in the evening. Glancing at the pile of paperwork in my inbox and measuring it quickly against the stack in my outbox, I decided I'd done enough for the day.
I took a quick look around the squad room. The captain was in his office and mos

Tiff held her breath and clutched Meta Knight's arm as they watched Kirby on the screen. After he had defeated the black behemoth, Tiff had thought for a moment that nothing would be able to stand in his way. She'd made an assumption, and watching Kirby as he tried to return to them made her regret the taunting remarks she'd thrown at the disembodied voice keeping them captive.
Meta Knight watched the screen in silence. His sword was safe, and doing its job admirably. Beneath his mask, he allowed himself a small smile. He need not

Tuff's mouth felt dry. It took him a few moments to realize why – he'd been standing with his mouth open for quite some time. He had no idea how long it had been since Tiff and Kirby followed Meta Knight into... wherever they'd gone

By the time Kirby finally slowed down, Tiff was panting for air. He'd kept up a rather grueling pace as he'd led them across the surface to something it seemed only he could see. When she'd finally caught her breath, Tiff tugged on his hand to make him stop. “Where are we headed, Kirby?”
He turned to face Tiff. Seeing one hand on her hip, he realized she wanted answers. His brow furrowed as he considered how to respond. Meta Knight saved him the trouble.
“I believe he is leading us there.”
Tiff and Kirby

Even with her eyes open, Tiff could only see blackness all around her. Other than the heartbeat that thrummed in her eardrums, silence reigned. An answering vibration seemed to come from all around her, but it existed only in the abstract. She wondered, as she labored for breath, if she would last more than a few meager moments. The only saving grace was the insistent tugging on her hand that she hoped was still Kirby. She tried to move closer to him, but had trouble getting her bearings. Her feet weren't on solid ground and without
