“I'm tellin' ya, that's tha best answer for it.”

Ororo looked at Rogue from the corner of her eye. Her friend often decided to question things, and the wind-rider had long ago learned to ignore it. She simply snuggled down into her beach chair a little more firmly.

“Ah mean, it's like he has some sense tha' tells him when we're about to get a summons from tha Professah. An' off he goes.”

Ororo closed her eyes briefly, opening them when a smack of bubblegum from her other side reminded her that the two of them weren't entirely alone in their musings.

“I've only seen him avoid trouble with it, though. So if it's some form of telepathy, it's either really limited, or super focused. Maybe all that metal in him channels it?” The smack of gum from Jubilee caused Ororo to cringe internally, but she'd learned long before she became an X-Man how to disguise her emotions.

The sound of an engine revving up from the garage caused them all to sit up. Ororo raised an eyebrow in indifference as the pair rapidly turned their attention to the drive. Logan was peeling out onto the main road by the time they turned, the only thing left of his motorcycle a cloud of dust rising on the road.

Frowning, Rogue turned back to Ororo, only to find her staring out at the lawn. Following her gaze, the Southerner found Jean standing there a somewhat coquettish smile dancing on her lips. The professor's mental voice summoned them a moment later. Rogue turned back to the wind-rider, but Ororo simply rose and walked back into the mansion. Jubilee stared after their white-haired teammate.

“I think she knows something.”

Rogue resisted the urge to roll her eyes. “Y'all might be right about that.”

Written in response to :iconliteraryfanfiction:'s Flash Fan Fiction Friday 4/10/15. The challenge was to choose one word from each of three categories and use it in the way listed either in a sentence within the story or in the title. I chose it for my title: (Adj., N., V.) Inquisitive Girls Notice. :) I hope you enjoy and constructive feedback is welcome!

Per wordcounter.net, exactly 300 words.

I like how you characterized Storm and her aloofnes. And despite the short length, I could recognize each character before you mentioned their name--only Rogue says "ya'll", and only Jubilee chews bubble gum at random moments. Bravo!
