Yes, I've used one of Mr. Spock's quotes for the title of this journal. The quote is taken from the episode "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield", stardate 5730.2 (original television series).

From his iconic role as Mr. Spock to his voice-acting in The Pagemaster, Mr. Nimoy has inspired generations. He was, like all of us, an artist. And he did not limit himself to the silver screen - Mr. Nimoy was a writer as well, including poetry. For fifty years he lived in all our hearts and minds as Mr. Spock, despite his other roles (including voicing Xehanort in Kingdom Hearts).

For the last week, the community has poured out their love for Mr. Nimoy, and I wanted to bring together some of those pieces into a showcase. Some of these were featured in techgnotic's journal, but many of them were created after that feature went up, and specifically made in tribute for Leonard Nimoy's passing.

When I heard the Star Trek original series intro music come on, I knew something had happened. I didn't know whether it was good or bad. I am still surprised that I didn't go off the road when the radio said Mr. Spock was dead.
I never met Leonard Nimoy in person, something that was on my bucket list, but I was able to see him(or in some cases hear him) on that magical screen called the TV. Like most people, I first saw him as Spock, the half human/half Vulcan science officer from Star Trek. While most people will remember him like that, I also remember him as the King of Atlantis in Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Galvatron in the first Transformers movie(the one with the planet eater), the other robot(I don't remember its name sorry) in Dark of the Moon, and as William Bell from the TV show Fr

Spaceman (A Tribute to Leonard Nimoy)The space man has hope,
hope for a brighter today,
and that's why he looks to the stars,
in search of a better place,
a place of peace and love,
the space man will go to the farthest reaches of existence,
and boldy go where no man has gone before,
in order to save the human race.
Leonard Nimoy: A tribute by a fanToday on BBC Worldnews it was reported: Leonard Nimoy dies aged 83 at his home in Los Angeles. He was afflicted with pulmonary disease. My mom, who is not a Star Trek fan, let out an ‘aaah!’ We who are Star Trek fans and who admire William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, and the many others associated with the Star Trek TV series, movies, books, comics as well as other related materials, and works by these actors not directly related to Star Trek, are all saddened today. We knew Leonard Nimoy was getting along; we were expecting him to leave us soon but hopefully not too soon! That day has arrived, and on this day and perhaps the next we shall mourn. Those closest will mourn even longer. In ‘The Squire of Gothos’ episode Spock said, ‘On that day I shall mourn.’ Unexpectedly, perhaps, a pang of sadness became discernible within my being. ‘It is not logical but it is true.’ Thank you, Leonard Nimoy, you, and all those others, have enriched our live   A Tribute to Leonard Nimoy "Just because he's old and in the hospital doesn't mean he's gonna die. George Bush is as old as dirt and came out of the hospital just fine", is what she said to me. I accepted her words with no small amount of trepidation, but underneath my natural pessimism I still had hope that one of my favorite actors would make it through.
It occurred to me, two days later in school as I stood at my locker exchanging my books for the day, with cold near-certainty.
Leonard Nimoy is going to die. Very soon.
I was right. My friend sent me a text in the middle of a geometry test reading "OLD SPOCK DIED."
I tried my best to hold it together, I really did. Like the character Nimoy portrayed, I tried to relegate my emotions below the surface, where they were numb to me and noone could see them. So I texted back (with no regard for school policy against cell phone use) "NO" four times, along with a simple, "I knew it.".
Then I proceeded to calculate the hypotenus

Elpida's TrekA Phoenix Clan Short Story and Tribute to Leonard Nimoy
Star Trek/Wars crossover
.

"This is your best one yet Cor." said Kendra as she watched his new drone fly through the branches of the ancient trees.
     "It's impressive." said Anthony.
"Thank you." said Cor "It still needs a name though."
The Phoenix Clan was spending the afternoon together, watching Cor fly his drones. This new one he built was really good. It had an auto piolet and could fly on its own, it could shoot little paintballs and squirt jets of water, it responded to voice commands, it had a holorecorder, a microphone, and a speaker built into it. It could play music or recorded messages. It could hold your lightsaber. It was almost like a small flying astromech droid.
"I'm open to suggestions." said Cor "What should we name it?"
     "How about Pi?" suggested Devin.
Live Long and Prosper (Tribute to Leonard Nimoy)I was lost and alone, trying to find a place in the world
When you offered your hand and all of space unfurled
You showed me galaxies and worlds never before seen
Let me walk by your side, were a friend on whom I could lean
Whenever I got turned around you were there for me
Helped to guide me to the path and helped me to see
Your words of wisdom taught me that differences don't matter
And we're all the same when it feels like the world will shatter
You taught me
That the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few
Some times it's worth the sacrifice even if it means losing you
Your friends can be your family even when they're a little dense
That you can save the world with plans that make no sense
So though you are gone your spirit will live on
You will shine in the light of each new dawn
Never forgotten by those you touched with your art
You will live on in the warmth and love of every heart
So farewell, my friend, 'til we meet again
Know that you lived long and prospered
Farewell to SpockIn the flash before the night…You heard the call of the red sun’s land…
The philosophers chanting…call out your name…
Live long…and prosper…
You lived so long…
The katra soars on logic’s wings…
Your heart is singing…you’ve found your way…
You’ve lived long…so welcome home
